Head of School
Krystal joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2008. She is a graduate of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. She received her B.A. from Bryan College and her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. She taught at Hamilton Heights for 6 years before continuing her teaching career in Hamilton County. Krystal was also an instructional coach for the edtech start-up BetterLesson, supporting teachers across the United States through personalized instructional coaching and large-scale workshops. She returned to Hamilton Heights as the Principal in 2018.
Assistant Principal, Science Department Head
Jason joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2009. He received his B.A. from Bryan College. Jason serves as the Assistant Principal and Science Department Head. During his time at Hamilton Heights he has taught all core Science courses, Financial Peace, PE, and Bible History courses. Jason currently teaches Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Financial Peace, and College & Career Prep.
Math Department Head
Karen joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 1998. She has been a faculty member at Hamilton Heights since the founding of the school. Karen received her B.S. in Mathematics from Lee University. She has been teaching in Christian and Private high schools in Chattanooga for 35+ years. She currently teaches Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. Karen is also the faculty sponsor for Student Government.
Cultural and Language Department Head
Mabel joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2019. She is originally from Cuba. She received her B.A. in Socio-Cultural Studies and Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. She received her M.Ed. from the University of Havana. She has taught 11+ years and many different countries, teaching cultural history courses, ESL, and Spanish. Mabel currently teaches World History and Geograph, US History, Spanish 1-2, and ESL courses.
English Language Arts Department Head
Randal joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2008. He received his B.A. from the University of TN in Chattanooga. He has been involved in education through the Orange Grove Center in Chattanooga, the Montessori Children's House on Signal Mountain, and Hamilton Heights for over 30 years. Randal currently teaches English Language Arts Classes for grades 9-12. He is also the faculty sponsor for the Fine Arts club.
Head Boys Basketball Coach
Coach Cook is entering his 1st year as the Head Boys Basketball Coach of the Hawks. Coach Cook earned his B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Prior to entering Hamilton Heights, Coach Cook spent several years coaching as an assistant at Brainerd High School, Chattanooga State Community College and Life University (Marietta, GA). Coach Cook spent 3 years on the summer circuit as the Head Coach of Team NLP-TN, where he led his team to the AAU 17U National Championship in 2017. Coach Cook has helped multiple players receive basketball scholarships to college and is looking forward to doing the same as our head coach.
Tabitha joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2019. She is a native of Chattanooga, TN. Tabitha earned her B.S. from Lee University. She taught at Ooltewah Middle School and has been involved in education for over 10 years. Tabitha serves as the Office Administrator at Hamilton Heights, overseeing student services, communication, FACTS/Renweb support, academic records, and administrative support.
Ernie joined the Hamilton Heights faculty in 2014. He earned his Bachelor of Theology degree from the Christian Life School of Theology and worked on Music Studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Earnie was the Worship Pastor at City Church for almost 30 years. He is currently the Care Ministries Pastor at City Church, where he has been serving in that role for the last 12 years. Ernie currently teaches Music History and Appreciation at Hamilton Heights.
